Headley Parish Council shares a portable Speed Limit Reminder sign (SLR) with two other parishes. The device is deployed for two weeks at each location across the parishes. It collects data about speed, time and date of passing vehicles which is useful for monitoring traffic. The parishes publish the reports for residents’ information.
SLRs are useful in an area where speeding can be a problem, they remind drivers of the speed limit and stand out from permanent roadside signs. They could help to break the habit of motorists who consistently drive too fast.
The device uses radar to accurately measure the speed of approaching vehicles and the LED display flashes the current speed to the driver
