Planned Highways Maintenance Works Pond Road, Headley – Drainage Cleansing & Pond Desilting Works 15th May

EH916 – Pond Road, Headley – Drainage Cleansing & Pond Desilting Works

Following on from our previous correspondence, as part of Hampshire County Council’s annual planned maintenance programme, this letter is to update and inform you that we will be undertaking drainage cleansing in Beech Hill and Fuller Vale at the junction with Pond Road and Gentles Lane with pond desilting works in Pond Road, Headley.

Drainage cleansing works are programmed to start Thursday 15th May 2025 and are expected to take up to 2 nights to complete, during which time Pond Road will be closed to vehicular traffic and temporary traffic lights will be in operation in Fuller Vale, Beech Hill and Gentles Lane between 20:00 to 06:00hrs (Monday – Friday working).

Pond desilting works will then follow on from Monday 19th May 2025 and are expected to take up to 10 days to complete, during which time Pond Road will be closed to vehicular traffic between 07:30 to 18:00hrs (Monday – Friday working).

For both works the road will be open outside of these hours and local access will be maintained for residents and commercial premises where possible.

As a resident/business, you are receiving this letter to inform you that, due to the close proximity of your property to the works, you are within an area which may experience some noise disturbance overnight. We are aware of the issues created by night working and will endeavour to keep noise levels reduced whenever possible

Whilst there is an allowance within the time periods shown above for delays, there may be times when we have to postpone works at very short notice; based on the latest weather forecasts, this can occur just prior to works commencing. We will always look to provide up to date information wherever we can, but sometimes these last-minute decisions can be difficult to relay to the travelling public in a timely manner. When we can, any significant changes to the scheduled dates will be made clear on the yellow sign boards located at the works limits.

For your safety and that of our workforce, we are unable to guarantee vehicular
access to and from your property during the road closure. Should you need to make an essential journey, please contact a member of the workforce in advance and they will be able to advise if they can accommodate your request. Pedestrian access will be available at all times.

Please be aware any vehicles left parked on the road that prevent the works taking place, face the risk of being removed.

For further details of how the road closure may affect your access please visit our website – www.hants.gov.uk/roadworks.
