December News

The Parish Council arranged for work to be done to clean and restore the War Memorial so that it looked its best for Remembrance Sunday.  Vice Chairman, Cllr Mark Dickens laid the wreath on behalf of the Parish Council.

Residents should have received notification from SSEN of their planned road closure programme to complete the upgrade to the high voltage electricity supply to Whitehill and Bordon.  We understand that not all residents have received this information and SSEN has agreed to resend it.  For further information go to Alton-Bordon Network Investment – SSEN.

The works are due to go on until August 2024 and will have a significant impact on Headley and neighbouring parishes.  The schedule of works and road closures are on the map below. The second map shows the diversion in place for the works on Lindford Road which are underway.  Work will stop on 8th December until 8th January for the Christmas break.

Alton – Bordon Highways Work Programme

Due to the recent heavy rain, at the time of writing, the Ford at Headley Mill is closed.

The Parish Council has invested in new Christmas lights for the chestnut tree by the Holly Bush pub and the tree on the Village Green near the Village Hall.  The lights will be turned on on the 1st December; we hope they bring some festive cheer.  Thanks to Cllr Peter Ellens who has spent a lot of time in the dark and cold, checking the lights are in the correct position and liaising with the contractor.

The Parish Council wishes everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
